The Top 20 Courses In Myrtle Beach, According To PGA Experts

Myrtle Beach is one of the top is one of the top golf destinations in the United States, with more than 80 courses along the Grand Strand. With so many choices, it’s hard to know what courses to book when you take that buddy trip south.

If you want expert advice, ask an expert. The folk at MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.Com did just that, conducting an anonymous survey of more than 50 Myrtle Beach-area PGA Professionals. The golf professionals were asked to rank rank order their top twenty courses, giving 20 points to their number one choice, nineteen to their second, and so on.

Here are the top 20 courses in Myrtle Beach, according to PGA Experts:

1.    Dunes Golf & Beach Club
2.    Caledonia Golf & Fish Club
3.    Tidewater Golf Club
4.    Grande Dunes Resort Club
5.    Prestwick Country Club
6.    TPC Myrtle Beach
7.    True Blue Golf Club
8.    Fazio Course at Barefoot Resort
9.    Dye Course at Barefoot Resort
10.   King’s North at Myrtle Beach National
11.   Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club
12.   Arrowhead Country Club
13.   Love Course at Barefoot Resort
14.   Heritage Club
15.   Thistle Golf Club
16.   Pine Lakes Country Club
17.   Rivers Edge Golf Club
18.   Arcadian Shores Golf Club
19.   Willbrook Plantation
20.   Long Bay Club

I have only been fortunate enough to have played three of the ones on that list: Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, Grande Dunes and Pine Lakes. Caledonia, for what it’s worth, is on my list of top ten courses I’ve played — anywhere.

Still, I’m glad to know that two of the three I’ve played are in the top 20 courses list.

What I’ve got to do is figure out a way to get to Myrtle Beach in the late fall or early Spring, to take advantage of the area’s excellent weather.
