The Eleventh At Colonial

Crowne Plaza (29 of 60)

The eleventh at Colonial is a 635 yard par 5 that was set probably a hundred yards shorter for the amateurs. After finishing up on the tenth (our first hole of the day), we posed for photos on the tee here before putting our balls in play.

My tee shot was just short of the bunkers on the left. The second, a three wood, found rough on the left. It was rougher than I thought, and my iron back to the fairway didn’t go very far. My next shot hit between the bunkers left of the green. I putted up the hill and on to the green. Two putts later, I was down.

My score didn’t count here, though. Ft. Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief rolled in a par.

(from my 2011 trip to play in the Pro-Am as Crowne Plaza’s guest at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial).
