The University Club of MSU

I just got an email inviting me to join the University Club of Michigan State University and their Forest Akers Golf Membership. It’s a country club for the Michigan State University community, with golf, dining, fitness, swimming and more.

For those interested, Michigan State is having an open house:

Wednesday, March 23
7:00-8:30 p.m.
Golf Banquet Room
(Located in the Henry Center adjacent to the U-Club.)

Get acquainted with other U-Club golf members, swap some golf stories, and get an update on Forest Akers Golf Courses as you enjoy complimentary desserts and beverages.

To RSVP for this event or to arrange a tour of the Club, contact Phyllis Riley at 517-353-5111 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

If I live closer to East Lansing, I’d be very interested. Forest Akers is a terrific course, and the facilities there are first rate.

I wonder why the University of Michigan doesn’t offer a similar program … or maybe they do and I just don’t realize it.

  1. Hello!

Thanks for posting this and thank you for your kind words about Forest Akers and the University Club of MSU.  Membership is available to everyone regardless of their affiliation with MSU.  So if you enjoy Forest Akers and the U-Club, but thought you had to be an alumnus or MSU employee to join, we have good news:  Anyone can join!

All of our memberships offer unlimited access to the Club’s outstanding dining services, banquet facilities, pools, tennis courts, and extensive programs, as well as reciprocal privileges at clubs throughout Michigan and around the world.  Members benefit from the excellent meeting and conference facilities at the adjacent James B. Henry Center for Executive Development, preferred room rates at the adjoining Candlewood Suites, and discounts at our full-service spa.  You may select a basic Social membership, a Fitness membership that provides access to our state-of-the-art Fitness Center, a Golf membership that grants special privileges at Forest Akers Golf Courses, or an Everything membership that includes Social, Fitness, and Golf benefits.

Best of all:  We are probably more affordable than you think!  Give us a call at 517-353-5111, email me at rileyps@msu.edu, or visit us online at http://www.universityclubofmsu.org
