Tickets are now on sale for the inaugural edition of the Volvik Championship, which will be held May 23 – 29 at the Travis Pointe Country Club in Ann Arbor. I’ve not had the chance to visit or Travis Pointe, but I have heard the facility is terrific.
“The excitement of this inaugural event is ramping up,” said Tournament Director Keith Karbo. “The business community is getting behind this professional golf tournament, and we want to develop the same synergy with the public.
I have had a lot of fun attending the nearby LPGA tournament in Toledo, now known as the Marathon Classic (but for years known as the Jamie Farr). I’ve found that LPGA events are fun, family friendly and very, very accessible.
The price is right, too. Monday is free; Tuesday and Wednesday Grounds tickets are $10. Thursday and Friday are $15; Saturday and Sunday are $20. Kids under 17 are free with an adult. A weeklong grounds pass is $60. Active and retired military are free.
Hospitality options, including seats in the Champions Club and Skybox Suites, are also available.
