Tiger Makes Match Play Boring

Tiger Woods has once again done what I thought was impossible: He made the finals in the match play championship boring. In beating Stuart Cink 8 and 7, the Great One passed Arnold Palmer on the all time victories list and made a mockery of the World Match Play Event.

Cink, I’m sure, is thinking that his time would have been better spent at Riviera Maya, where those who didn’t get a match play invitation were playing. There, guys named Brian Gay and Steve Marino finished 1-2. Cink probably would have lapped the field.

Tiger’s start certainly makes his pursuit of the Grand Slam seem more possible.
