Tolkien Reading Day

Tolkien Reading Day Is March 25

March 25 marks the anniversary of the destruction of the One Ring, and the Fall of Sauron in the Third Age of Middle Earth.

Accordingly, this day has been named Tolkien Reading Day.

I have read The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit at least once each year since high school. It is an amazing work of literature. As with so many works, the book is vastly better than the movies.

Since so many are locked down by their state governments over the next several weeks, this might be a good time to dive into a great series of books.

If you haven’t already done so, start with The Hobbit (which was done a great injustice by the movies, I think). It’s an easy read. If you want a bigger story and a slightly more challenging read, dive into The Lord of the Rings after that.
