US Junior Amateur Winners

US Junior Amateur Winners and History

First played in 1948, the US Junior Amateur is sponsored by the United States Golf Association.

The competition is open to amateurs who are 19 on the last day of the competition, with a Handicap index of 4.4 or less. Local qualifiers are held at locations across the United States. Players who advance from local qualifiers then compete in regional 18-hole final qualifiers.

Key exemptions include:

  1. State, AGA, Regional, and National Junior Amateur Champions: Players who have won junior amateur championships at various levels may receive exemptions.
  2. WAGR Age-Filtered Exemption Category: The top 100 players in the WAGR rankings (previously 85) are eligible for exemptions.

Tiger Woods (3) and Jordan Spieth (2) are the only multiple winners of the Junior Amateur.

A list of all US Junior Amateur Winners follows.
