My home course, Washtenaw Golf Club, currently is running a deal on Individual Season passes: players who sign up by February 28 can get a $200 discount.
Washtenaw is a terrific old school course. Dating to 1899, Washtenaw is one of the oldest clubs in Michigan. The original holes were designed by Bert Way, an accomplished golf professional from England. Way is perhaps best known for designing the south course at Firestone. The course was expanded to 18 holes in 1920 under the supervision of John H. Sweeney, who also designed Lochmoor.
Private for most of its existence, Washtenaw now is entirely public and owned by Michigan Golf Hall of Famer Dave Kendall.
