I can’t imagine a more intriguing leaderboard at the end of the first day of the 2010 Masters.
In first place, Fred Couples, who has been playing better than anyone on the planet in recent weeks—albeit on the Senior Tour. Among others tied for second are Watson and Mickelson. Then, just behind them, two young guns: Rickey Barnes and Anthony Kim.
Experience versus Youth—one of the themes I thought might make its appearance in this Masters.
Another theme I have been looking at: Internationals versus US players: right now there are five each in the top ten.
As for what’s-his-name, he’s tied for seventh at -4. So much for predictions of a rough return.
It’s shaping up to be a great weekend.

As I sat at happy hour, happier than a clam with Watson and Couples and Phil—and it was wall to wall coverage of Cheetah, and it just ticked me off.
