West Michigan Golf Show Is February 9 – 11
If you’re in West Michigan this weekend, and need a golf fix, you might want to stop in at the annual West Michigan Golf Show at DeVos Place.
I have never had the opportunity to go, but have heard good things.
One of these years.
In the meantime here’s the registration information:

And an FAQ to help answer any uncertainties you may have.
(Grand Rapids, Mich.) For 36 consecutive years the West Michigan Golf Show has never missed a tee time for winter-weary golfers yearning for a touch of spring—even if it’s indoors. With that as an intro, here’s a helpful FAQ (frequently asked questions) guide for new and returning patrons headed for the show this weekend, Feb. 9-11, at DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids.
For people never attending the show, what can they expect?
Lots of golf! With hundreds of exhibits and dozens of interactive areas, the Show covers every aspect of the game—from equipment and clothing to resorts and golf courses to skill contests. In short, there’s stuff to see, to do and to buy. And many people plan their golf vacations at the Show. In fact, many savvy patrons book their tee-times and golf packages right at the Show.
For juniors and families, what’s available?
The First Tee Program of West Michigan will staff a special junior golf interactive area with large inflatable targets and provide news about its 2024 programs aimed at getting juniors excited about golf, a character-building game of a lifetime.
What are the other fun elements of the Show?
There are putting and long drive contests, closest to the pin events using a golf simulator, and the new $100 Hole-Out Challenge. Of course, to many bargain hunters, it’s hard to beat the Show for its retail offerings of new equipment, apparel, shoes, gloves and accessories. Maple Hill Golf, a Show fixture for 36 years, will have over $1 million dollars of inventory.
Explain the $100 Hole-Out Challenge.
A pitch shot contest will be very popular to patrons as it’s a spin-off from the Par-3 Challenge. For $10, patrons hit three pitch shots—raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation—and compete for prizes including $100 on the spot for every hole-out and lots of chances to win golf at Crystal Mountain Resort. Balls and clubs are provided as well as lots of support (heckling?) from spectators and friends alike.
For returning patrons, are there new exhibitors this year?
Yes, 20 new exhibitors including golf courses, apparel, golf instruction and vacation destinations. Also, we’ve redesigned our “course” (DeVos Place Exhibit Hall ) this year with an entirely new layout. Still a walker-friendly space, you won’t need a cart!
How much does it cost and where can I purchase tickets?
Only $12. Juniors 14 & under are FREE. Your ticket gets you free re-entry all weekend! Purchase your ticket at the box office or online with no added fees at www.WestMichiganGolfShow.com Lots of special ticket promotions online!
Where can one park?
Parking is easy! Convenient parking beneath DeVos Place, across the street, or $3.00 parking in DASH lot 9 on Seward Ave. with free shuttle service to the show every 10 minutes, sponsored by Affordable Limousine & Party Bus.
What are the hours?
Show hours are 2:00 pm-8:00 pm, Friday; 9:00 am-6:00 pm, Saturday; and 10:00 am-3:00 pm, Sunday.
It is also worth mentioning the sponsors. These things don’t happen without sponsors:
The Golf Association of Michigan (GAM), a loyal exhibitor the past 35 straight years, returns as a sponsor representing nearly 90,000 amateur golfers and over 400 courses in the state. At the Show, patrons will be able to sign up for or renew their “GAM Membership.” Membership perks include: the ability to post scores on a mobile device and options to play in GAM Golf Days – fun, casual one-day events at exclusive Michigan golf courses.Visit www.gam.org

Like GolfBlogger, I have never visited the West Michigan Golf Show. I was a regular attendee of the Michigan Golf Show (currently held in Novi). My impression from afar is that the West show is bigger and better. I stopped going to the Michigan Golf Show in 2021. Prior to the pandemic, the show was becoming increasingly a venue for marketing gutter guards, hot tubs, investment advisors, etc.
I won’t be making the drive to GR this year but I may consider a visit to the Novi show again.
Last year’s Novi show was an even smaller ratio of golf to extraneous products.
