I’ve heard a lot of criticism of Vijay Singh since he took over Tiger’s spot at #1 (which he, of course, subsequently lost).
Most of the criticism stems from the perception that he got his number one spot by beating up on lesser competition in minor tournaments.
But maybe his playoff victory in the Wachovia Championship this Sunday will silence them. The Wachovia boasted the best field since the Masters—and one of the best all year. Nine of the top eleven players were there.
And Vijay bested them all.
