“I’m really proud of the guys today, especially in the afternoon round,” WVU coach Sean Covich said. “All year we have struggled on the second round and, honestly, early on we were not playing well. However, the guys turned it around and posted our best 36-hole round of the season and have us in a solid position headed into the final round. I’m really glad to see the hard work pay off for them. The guys should be playing with some confidence tomorrow and enjoy their final regular season round.”

Cooke repeated his feat in the second to end the day two under par at 140 and remains in seventh place. Sear proceeded to shoot a 71, carding a two-round total of 141 for one under par. He sits tied for eighth place.
