Arnold Palmer Sept. 10, 1929 – Sept. 25, 2016

The King is gone.

I’m heartbroken. I always wanted to have the chance to meet him. I am too young to have gone to one of his tournaments, but I will always be a member of Arnie’s Army.

No golfer will ever be as cool, or as important to the game as Arnold Palmer.

Money is no measure of a man, but as a measure of his continuing popularity, it is worth noting that in 2014 — forty one years after his last PGA Tour victory — Palmer earned a reported $40 million dollars from sponsors and endorsements.
