REGISTRATION IS OPEN: Enter GAM Championships, Golf Days and More
FARMINGTON HILLS – Registration for GAM tournaments and Golf Days is open at gam.org.
As in recent years registration is available to members through the website for 29 championships, including the multiple GAM qualifiers for the Michigan Amateur Championship and GAM Championship, as well as the 24 GAM Golf Days currently scheduled.
The schedule includes the traditional championships, including the 109th Michigan Amateur Championship and the 104th Michigan Women’s Amateur Championship, the 99th GAM Championship and the 29th GAM Women’s Championship, but also several age group championships and championships with special age group divisions for junior boys and girls, senior men and women, and multiple NET championships for the non-elite competitive golfer as well.
Planning is still underway for the annual GAM Scramble Championship as well as the involvement of GAM players in the annual Atlas Trophy, Fuller Cup and Senior International Matches against golfers from Ontario. Keep watch at gam.org for those event announcements.
The tournament schedule kicks off on April 25-26 with the second GAM Junior Kickoff being presented at Washtenaw Golf Club in Ypsilanti and continues through to the GAM Tournament of Champions on Oct. 5 at Oakland University’s Golf & Learning Center in Rochester.
Golf Days, where any and all GAM members can play top private courses for a negotiated rate as low as $60, start on April 27 at TPC of Michigan in Dearborn and continue through to the Oct. 6 Golf Day Championship at Indianwood Golf & Country Club. Note, as in the last few years, there are Golf Days through the schedule called qualifiers that send winners on to the final championship day. Some of the Golf Day hosts this year include Plum Hollow Country Club, Saginaw Country Club, Prestwick Village Golf & Country Club, Edgewood Country Club and Grosse Ile Golf & Country Club.
Elite players will note the 109th Michigan Amateur is being hosted by Boyne Highlands Resort’s Heather course in Harbor Springs June 22-26, and the 104th Michigan Women’s Amateur is being hosted by Forest Akers West course in East Lansing July 18-22. The 99th GAM Championship is slated for Aug. 3-4 at Western Golf & Country Club in Redford, and the 29th GAM Women’s Championship is Aug. 10-11 at Muskegon Country Club.
The popular GAM Senior/Mid-Am Team Championship will be presented at three sites on May 18 – Lochmoor Club in Grosse Pointe Woods, Travis Pointe Country Club in Ann Arbor and Dearborn Country Club.
