Historic Aerial Photo Of U-M Golf Course

I ran across this 1939 aerial photograph of the University of Michigan golf course. The course was designed by Alister MacKenzie and Perry Maxwell, and opened in 1931.

The image below is a similar angle from Google Earth.

As you can see, there are a lot more trees than in the original layout.

There’s also a second course in both photos. The Ann Arbor Golf and Outing Club is in the upper left, directly across from the stadium. The rectangular plot is a nine hole course dating to 1899.
