How good is Bubba Watson?

With his victory at the WGC Match Play Championship this past week, Bubba Watson now has two wins for the 2017-2018 season. His first was the Genesis Open at the difficult Riviera Country club. Justin Thomas and Patton Kizzire are the only other multiple winners this season.

Watson was missing in action for the last couple of years, but his overall body of work is impressive. With his two wins this year, Watson now has eleven wins since 2010. That places him in pretty elite company:

Bubba Watson – 11

Jordan Spieth – 11

Just as impressive is that with his win in the WGC Match Play, Watson is one of five players with multiple WGC titles, and multiple majors. The others are Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlroy and Ernie Els.

Again, pretty elite company.

With these sort of numbers, I wonder why he isn’t the favorite at Augusta, where he has already won twice.
