LPGA Maybank Championship Winners and History
New to the LPGA in 2023 is the Maybank Championship.
Held at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club in Malaysia, it is one of several golf tournaments that Maybank has sponsored over the years, including the Asian and European Tours’ Maybank Championship (2016 – 2020), Maybank Malaysian Open (2016 – 2015) and CIMB Classic (2013 – 2018).
The LPGA Maybank Championship is a 72 hole, no cut event, with a 78 player field. The LPGA has 68 of the spots, while the remaining ten are Maybank Invites.
The purse in 2023 is $3 million, making it one of the largest non-Major purses on the 2023 LGPA schedule.
Maybank is Southeast Asia’s fourth largest bank, as measured by assets.
The Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country club has previously hosted the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia from 2010 – 2017. On the men’s tours, it hosted the CIMB Classic and the Maybank Malaysian Open.
