Don’t think too much about technique on the course. Filling your head with all the swing tips you’ve learned from golf magazines, instruction books and videos will simply cause mental and physical confusion. The course also is not the place to start a detailed analysis of your swing.
Avoid “paralysis by analysis.” Don’t concentrate on the details of your swing. Instead, focus on the course and the shot, imagining what you want the ball to do, then let your swing happen.
Three things you can—and should—think about on the course: grip, stance and alignment. But all of those occur before the swing itself.
