On a cold winter’s day, here are a couple of photos of the Riviera Nayarit, a resort area in Mexico which features an impressive collection of courses from such big name designers as Jack Nicklaus (2 courses in Punta Mita and another one underway at Grand Mayan), Percy Clifford (Flamingos Golf Club), Robert Von Hagge (El Tigre, Nuevo Vallarta) and a newly opened Greg Norman course in Litibu.
Beyond golf, Riviera Nayarit is an ideal choice for beach relaxation, water sports, luxurious resorts and excellent dining. Riviera Nayarit encompasses 192 miles of Pacific coastline and beaches, traditional coastal towns and villages and beachfront luxury resort areas sheltered by the towering Sierra Madre Mountains. The region also recently announced its fourth hotel property that was recognized for the prestigious AAA Five Diamond award, the one of the highest recognitions for hotels and restaurants throughout the world.
In some future life, when I hit the lottery, I’m going to head down there for a break from Michigan winters.
