This week I added two more courses to my “collection” of more than 220 golf courses I’ve played in Michigan: Marysville and Riverbend.
Marysville Golf Course is an 18 hole muni located near the St. Clair River. It’s a parklands style course, with a couple of holes that have a view of the river, and others that play back and forth over a ravine formed by tributary in the watershed.
It’s a fun track.
The absolute best thing about this course, however is the halfway house, The Crossfire Grill, which serves absolutely outstanding smoked BBQ. I had a pulled pork sandwich before I teed off, and it was so good, I got a brisket sandwich to eat on the way home.
Riverbank, in South Lyon, is a very tight course with water everywhere you turn. Fortunately, it’s also a relatively short course, tipping out at just over 6,000 yards. Hybrids and irons off the tee for more accuracy are the strategy for this course.
I’ll have full reviews of both of these shortly. In the meantime, check out all of my Michigan Golf Course Reviews.
