There is so much potential good golf here, it’s hard for The GolfBlogger to contain his excitement. McIlroy vs Bradley? Wow. Garcia vs Furyk? Can’t wait. Donald-Watson. Westwood-Kuchar. The heck with the NFL. My tv will be on the Ryder Cup all day long.

  1. I hate that I was right about this.  I thought that Steve Stricker was the worst of the picks by DL3.  Also Furyk should not have been picked.

Mayhan and Fowler should have been picked instead of them.  I have also said I might have wanted Daly in there- mostly because I like JD, but also because he has been pretty consistent as of late.

That was what I said when they were picked, and then yesterday around the beers I was ticked at DL3 because why do you sit Keegan/Phil?  They were so strong Saturday morning, and they only played 12 holes, there was plenty of golf in them

So DL3 plays Stricker, for his third match, after two losses, and sits, Furyk, Brandt, Phil & Keegan.  Perhaps after going 0/2, you still have to play Tiger, but what about putting in Furyk who at the time was 1/2?  What about playing Brandt?  I don’t think you could break up Keegan/Phil – but playing Steve/Tiger as they were seemed like a predetermined throwaway loss.

As for Tiger, this is going to beat him up some.  His Ryder Cup record is complete crap.  As much as I thought the Presidents Cup was going to free him for some wins in 2012, I think the Ryder Cup is going to make it harder for him to win in 2013.
