The Top 4 Golfers To Watch in 2022

In 2021’s Professional Golfers Association (PGA) tour, the line was clear between winners and losers. The restoration of spectators helped shape the sport tremendously as we are expecting a competitive 2022 season.

Here are individuals who have shown great potential and could significantly impact in 2022. With all of the young talent out there this year, there has never been a more exciting time to place wagers on your favorite players. This list of the best online sports gambling sites will help you select the best one to place bets on the upcoming tournaments this season.

  1. Joaquín Niemann

There is a widespread belief that Joaquin Niemann has been around for quite some time, but it will shock you to know that this young man is only 23 years old. He is a gifted athlete who is driven by a burning urge to succeed. There is little significance to the fact that he won the Latin America Amateur Championship in 2018 and has been in excellent form since then. He hasn’t yet tapped into all that he’s capable of and odds are, this season could go the Chilean way.

For a golfer of his age, there aren’t any significant weaknesses in his game, and he’s been consistently good from tee to green since turning pro in 2018. In the golfing realm, Niemann’s game is one of the most well-liked due to its vastness. A near-impossible ability to fine-tune the distance between his irons was on display for everyone to see at Riviera. Because of his exquisite precision on approach shots, he gained 1.98 strokes each round throughout that week. Every golfer can benefit from such precision accuracy on the greens.

  1. Lucas Herbert

Lucas Herbert triumphed at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship in October 2021, bagging his first PGA win. Previously, Herbert made it to the finals of the Korn Ferry Tour, punching his ticket to the PGA.

The lad is native to Bendigo, Australia, but has been the global talk of golfers. The 26-year-old has won two major European Tour tournaments to complete his hat trick of victories. They include the Omega Dubai Desert Classic 2020 edition and the Dubai Duty-Free Irish Open held in 2021. The official world golf ranking places him at number 41, making him eligible to compete in major events this year. With this opportunity, he has the possibility of cementing his mark as a golfer.

  1. Patrick Cantlay

The 29-year-old has consistently progressed since joining the PGA Tour in 2017. 2021 was his year as he rose to become the best in the FedEx Cup. Ryder Cup’s success in the US further boosted his performance. The completion of a major championship is the final significant milestone for Cantlay.

The year 2022 seemed to be his to take. He finished three times in the top 10 and thrice in the top five in his first five competitions. For whatever reason, his irons were particularly weak at the Phoenix Open as he lost to Scottie Scheffler. He then succumbed to an awful defeat after Tom Hoge claimed The Pebble Beach Pro-Am winner four strokes shy of him.

Finally, data Golf discovered that he lost 1.2 strokes each measured round to the field when he hit his approach shots. However, it’s hard to overlook Cantlay’s approach game while he’s on the field. This year could be the redemption he’s after.

  1. Scottie Scheffler

As a 25-year-old, he has been at or near the top of the most significant leaderboards for the past year and a half. In three of them, he was placed in the top ten, while in the fourth, he came in 18th.

Scheffler did not get over that one bump holding him back until he overcame Cantlay in a playoff at the Arizona Open. Over the years, his driver’s distance has risen, and so far this season; his putting has been terrific. He can win every week no matter who is playing with his perfect combination of strength and technique. This year, he sits at position 123 of the tour based on his driving accuracy. However, he can be challenging to beat when he’s golfing well.
