Cattails Golf Club Sold For Housing
A plan to convert the South Lyon golf course Cattails into housing has been approved by the township board. The 160 acre property is slated for 127 houses.
The course had been open since 1991.
In 1997 Cattails hosted an LPGA Futures Event. The LPGA Futures was the developmental tour that now is known as the Epson Tour.
The following year, the event traveled down the road a bit to Washtenaw Golf Club (then the Washtenaw Country Club). You can read about the event at the link: 1998: LPGA Futures Tournament Held At Washtenaw Golf Club – GolfBlogger Golf Blog
Last fall, the nearby Coyote Golf Club was sold for housing as well.

Even with the closures of Cattails and Coyote, golfers in that area still have a lot of good options. Among them:
I’ve got reviews of each at the respective links. Some of them are a few years old, though. In my quest to play as many of Michigan’s 859 golf courses (I’m up to 275), I don’t often get to return to any particular one. Still, as much as possible, I try to write the reviews to give a sense of the type of course it is.
