The Garmin Approach S20 Golf GPS Watch is intended to be worn on the course and off. The gps golf watch is not only gives you distances, but also serves as an activity tracker and a smartwatch that notifies you of incoming messages on your phone.
The on-course functions of the Garmin Approach S20 include gps distances to the front, back and middle of the green, as well as hazards, doglegs and layups. You can also measure yardages for shots played from anywhere on the course. There is, naturally, also a scorecard function.
One golf related feature that I am really interested in is the “Autoshot,” which detects every swing, measuring shot distance and recording location for post-round analysis on Garmin’s software. My guess is that most people trying this would discover a) that they don’t hit the ball as far as they think they do and b) that they should move up a tee based on that data.
As an activity tracker, the Garmin Approach s20 displays steps, calories burned, distance and time of day, and monitors hours of sleep.
Finally, as a “smartwatch” connected to your phone, the Garmin Approach S20 notifies you of calls, texts, emails and other alerts
