Golf writer Lorne Rubenstein has a great look at the best players yet to win a major. There’s Sergio Garcia, of couse. And Adam Scott, Stephen Ames, and Justin Rose.
It’s interesting. But I think that this sort of list has become increasingly irrelevant. There are any number of guys who are the match for Garcia, Scott, Ames and Rose, but who haven’t won simply because they haven’t been on tour that long.
My list of players for whom it’s only a matter of time include (In no particular order) Sean O’Hair, Bubba Watson, Rory McIlroy, Anthony Kim and Boo Weekley. I particularly like O’Hair and Watson’s chances. I love Watson’s shot-making ability. There isn’t anyone else his age who can work the ball the way he does.
There are others, I’m sure. Add a comment, and add to the list …
