Great Lakes Golf At West Branch

Great Lakes Golf At West Branch

For several years now I’ve driven past the Great Lakes Golf sign off I75 on my way to and from GolfBlogger’s World Headquarters in Ann Arbor and its satellite facilities in Northern Michigan.

This time, I decided to stop in to see what it was all about.

As Great Lakes Golf is located in a rather forlorn looking outlet mall, I had few hopes. It would be, I thought, like a lot of outlet mall golf shops: a disorganized mishmash of products no one wants or could sell.

What I found at Great Lakes Golf at West Branch was a shop with a couple of large and well-kept simulator bays, a putting green, club fitting, a small selection of off-the-rack clubs and some interesting-looking apparel.

The simulators had beautiful wood bar counters, although I didn’t see any bar facilities. The company website says that it uses Uneekor simulators.

Great Lakes Golf has two locations: West Branch and Bay City.

I didn’t have time to use the simulators — or even really to have a chat with the staff — but I’m glad my curiosity has been satisfied.
