Tom Doak’s first design, the High Pointe Golf Club in Traverse City, Michigan, has closed. Doak has lately been one of the hottest architects in golf, having designed the highly regarded Oregon’s Pacific Dunes and New Zealand’s Cape Kidnapers.
Another missed opportunity for yours truly. High Pointe was on my play list last summer, and I didn’t get to it.
