Odds To Win The FedEx St. Jude 2011

Former World Number One Lee Westwood is the oddsmaker’s favorite at this week’s FedEx St. Jude at 7/1. For my money, however, David Toms is the better play. No evidence to support that premise; just a hunch.

There actually are quite a few big names at this Tour stop: Brian Gay at 20/1; Sergio Garcia at 25/1; Brandt Snedeker at 33/1; Geoff Ogilvy and Retief Goosen at 40/1; Padraig Harrington and Scott Varplank at 50/1; Anthony Kim and YE Yang at 66/1 and so on.

My new favorite player, Stuart Appleby is in at 100/1.

Aside from my feeling about Toms, I’d say that the winner is likely to follow the trend and come from the middle of the pack.

A further note: JB Holmes is listed in the odds, but he has withdrawn with vertigo.
