The new Titleist Tour Soft is the replacement for the NXT Tour and NXT Tour S balls. The Tour Soft features Titleist’s largest-ever core, along with a thin grafted cover with “TCU Process Technology” for control. The TCU cover is as thin as those of urethane balls currently on the market. The cover design features 342 cuboctahedron, spherically tiled dimples.
The large core, Titleist says, is designed for both soft feel and higher ball speeds.
In replacing the NXT Tour and NXT Tour S balls, Titleist is following its “one ball for all” marketing strategy. The Tour Soft is aimed (and priced) for players who want something more than a bargain ball, but don’t think they need the premium ProV1.
