Who Will Win the 2017 US Masters?

The US Masters is always one of the most anticipated tournaments of the year. It is a four-day tournament with excitement that can be felt for months before. The entire tournament, held at the Augusta National Golf Club, is definitely a must-watch if you are a golf fan.

This year’s US Masters is set to be even more exciting, since we have more competitors to watch out for. Who will win the 2017 US Masters? Here are our top picks for this year’s tournament.

Dustin Johnson

Dustin Johnson is the current No. 1 in the world rankings, so it is not surprising to find bookmakers favouring him to win the tournament. The odds for Johnson are very good too, with top bookmakers giving him 5/1 to win the 2017 US Masters.

However, if you do not trust Dustin Johnson, there are plenty of other good options to try to cash in on with the bookmakers and spice up the 2017 Masters experience.

Jordan Spieth

Following Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth is the next in line to win the 2017 US Masters. He won the tournament back in 2015 and finished in 2nd place last year. Even Spieth has said that the Augusta National is one of his favourites and his past performances have shown that he knows his way around the course.

Spieth is also consistent. Over the last three starts, he has always finished 25 under par. Golf experts believe that he will continue to win at the Augusta National for several more years, and a victory this year could be just what Spieth needs to claim his spot as one of the all-time greats.

Rory Mcllroy

Mcllroy is not the obvious favourite, but he is definitely motivated. He only needs the Green Jacket to cement his spot as one of the golf elites who have won all four Majors, and this year may be his year to achieve that. The golf world still talks about his 2011 meltdown, but this only puts a shade over his stellar – albeit not quite good enough – performances these past years.

Mcllroy is more mature, which is why his odds are looking good this year. He is seen as calmer and better at calculating his moves. His stellar form means he can take the Augusta National by storm and may very well use the opportunity to surprise his critics.

Jon Rahm

No first-year rookie has won the US Masters since 1979, but Jon Rahm may be here to make history. He has a very decorated rookie career and plenty of victories to prove that he has what it takes to compete with the big boys. This is his first time competing in the US Masters.

His odds keep improving too. Rahm started with odds of 80/1 when the market opened, but he is now at 20/1 due to his stellar form and great performances of late. Don’t forget that he is only 22 years old, so he is definitely just getting started.

These are the four favourites to win the 2017 US Masters. Who is your favourite? Is he on the list? Be sure to share your thoughts on who you think will win this year’s tournament in the comments below.
