The Verizon Heritage actually has a pretty good cast of characters for its little play this year. Jim Furyk is the odds-favorite at 16/1, although I don’t know how considering his horrible showing at last week’s Masters. Paul Casey and KJ Choi are in at 18/1—can Choi snap back after the disappointment? At one point, he seemed to have the Green Jacket in his bag. Matt Kuchar is at 20/1; Camilo Villegas at 25/1; and Robert Allenby and Luke Donald at 28/1.

Where does this statement come from? ” At one point, he seemed to have the Green Jacket in his bag.” (about K.J. Choi). Granted, he was playing pretty good on the front nine, but I don’t remember him ever having the lead outright. Was he ever even tied for the lead? The only thing I remember is him being one stroke back at one point. Besides, don’t they always say the real tournament starts on the back nine at Augusta?
I was convinced at several points in the early going that he was going to end up as the winner. Choi was playing very steady golf while others were spraying shots, flubbing bunker shots and having strange objects deflect their putts from the sky.
