The sixteenth at Bandon Dunes may very well be its “signature” hole. This is a 363 yard par 4 with a split fairway.

Designed by David McLay Kidd, the eponymous Bandon Dunes course at Bandon Dunes golf resort is routed along cliffs and dunes on Oregon’s Pacific Coast. It is a true linksland course — the kind to which many aspire, but few achieve. The key is the land: abutting the Pacific, sandy, windswept, and wild.

Bandon Dunes was Kidd’s first project, Bandon Dunes’ first course, and what some consider the first true links course in the United States. The natural dunes, and bunkers, along with hard-and-fast, sandy ground  just can’t be duplicated by man’s machines. And then there is the wind. Always the wind.

The seventh at Bandon Dunes is a 411 yard par 4.

Bandon Dunes is a beautiful and fun course that should be on every golfer’s bucket list.
