Crane Wins Par-3 At Masters; Palmer, Nicklaus Compete

Ben Crane—with Cowboys Quarterback Drew Bledsoe on the bag—won the traditional Masters Par Three tournament with a four under 23.

Scratch him off your list of potential winners. There’s a Par Three Curse in which the winner on the short course doesn’t win on the big one.

Also appearing in the event were Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, each making their only playing appearance of the week.

The other member of the Big Three, Gary Player, still is competing.

There were three holes-in-one: Padraig Harrington, Tim Clark and Arron Oberholser.

  1. Am I the only person who hates when sportscastors say Tiger Woods is trying to “win his 5th green jacket” or Phil Mickelson is trying to “win his 2nd green jacket” or Mike Weir is trying to “win his 2nd green jacket”.

No matter how many times you win the Masters, you only get one jacket!!!!

To the announcers, stop saying “Tiger’s trying to win his 5th green jacket” and start saying “Tiger’s trying to win 5th masters championship”
