Duval Calls 2006 “A Great Year”

An interesting bit from the Arizona Republic:

David Duval, who used to give Tiger Woods a run for his money, failed to post a top-10 finish, ended up 172nd on the PGA Tour money list and this week called it “a great year.” Duval openly admits that he isn’t playing at the same level he did as the No. 1-ranked golfer in the world, but if you want to know how he’s doing, look at the smile on his face, not his current ranking of 390.

I actually thought that the player formerly known as David Duval image showed flashes of his former self this year. And I agree with the Arizona Republic—he certainly seemed to be enjoying himself more.

I predict that next year he breaks back into the top 100 on the money list.

  1. I too will continue to look out for David in 2007. Ever since seeing win the Open at Lytham St Annes I wonder how any golfer can fall so far. The great thing is that his form does definitely seem to be improving and you never know a top 10 place may just be around the corner.
