Golf In A Plague Year April 23: Aid

More golf organizations are stepping up to offer aid during the Coronavirus Plague.

What’s neat about many of the fundraisers is that they are charity auctions where a golfer can not only aid people hurt by the crisis, but also pick up some really neat stuff. Here are two of the most recent:

Honma Golf Charity Fundraiser Aids PGA Workforce

Honma Golf has launched two fundraising efforts in support of the PGA of America’s newly-established Golf Emergency Relief Fund, which provides short-term financial assistance to members of the golf industry workforce who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Using #PickUpYourPro as a tag, Honma hopes to raise at least $25,000.

Honma, with headquarters in Carlsbad, Calif. and Sakata, Japan, has established a charity fundraiser at honmagolf.rallyup.com, giving golfers the opportunity to win premium current-model Honma equipment as well as rare and collectible clubs and accessories.

Honma’s charitable #PickUpYourPro initiative, which features nearly $50,000 in Honma retail product, invites donors to support the Golf Emergency Relief Fund by contributing $10, $25, $50 or $100 fixed-entry amounts between April 22 and May 15, 2020. In turn, donors have a chance to win attractive product packages. Winners will be selected randomly on May 20.

The list of equipment up for grabs is impressive. You can get a good look at honmagolf.rallyup.com

Honma is also contributing 10 percent of the proceeds from all online sales at honmagolf.com from April 15, 2020 through May 30, 2020 to the PGA’s Golf Emergency Relief Fund. This includes sales of all Honma golf clubs and accessories.

Acushet Aids With Unique Golf Experiences

Acushnet, which encompasses TItleist, Footjoy, Vokey Design, Scotty Cameron and other iconic golf brands, is auctioning off twelve once in a lifetime golf experiences. All proceeds will benefit the CDP COVID-19 Response Fund, the United Way and the Golf Emergency Relief Fund.

The experiences include rounds with Ian Poulter or Webb Simpson; lessons and rounds with Mike and Justin Thomas; Brad Faxon, Michael Breed, Butch Harmon, Peter Kostis, and more.

The jewel in the crown, however, has to be a foursome at Pebble Beach hosted by Jim Nantz.
