It’s Opening Day!

The PGA Tour starts its 2013 season today with a 3:30 (Eastern Time) tee shot from Rickie Fowler at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Hawaii.

The Tournament of Champions’ field is limited to just those players who won in the previous season, so it is somewhat of an exhibition game. Next week’s Sony Open in Honolulu will be the first full field event.

This is also going to be a transition year, with an abbreviated schedule. The 2013 season starts today and ends after the Tour Championship in late September. The Tour then starts the 2013-2014 season at the beginning of October.

Since the outdoor temperature here in Michigan is expected to get to a high of 28 today, I look forward to watching today’s event in Hawaii. It’s nice to dream of warmer climes.
