Things are looking up for Michigan golf fans. The LPGA has added a Symetra Tour event in addition to the Meijer LPGA Classic.
The FireKeepers Championship will be held June 3 – June 8 in Battle Creek. It is hosted by FireKeepers Casino and Hotel, which is owned bythe Nottawaseppi (NOT’-uh-wuh-seh-pee) Huron Band of Potawatomi (pot-uh-WAH’-tuh-mee) Indians.
FireKeepers Casino Hotel plans to donate event profits to S.A.F.E. Place women’s shelter, which serves victims of domestic violence and their families.
The Symetra Tour is the LPGA’s developmental tour, similar to the PGA TOUR’s Web.Com.
I’m going to have to figure out how to get there to cover the event.
