Tom Doak Redesigns Greens and Tees at Country Club of Detroit

The Country Club of Detroit has gone with Michigander Tom Doak (he lives in Traverse City) for their project to rebuild the club’s tees and greens.

Doak, who may be most famous for his work at Brandon Dunes, recently designed the practice facility for Detroit’s Midnight Golf. He also designed the Black Forest course in Gaylord, Michigan, which I reviewed.

I really liked Black Forest and am disappointed that I didn’t get a chance to play his High Pointe course in Michigan before it closed.

  1. Glad to see that you use the term “Michigander” rather than “Michiganian” or “Michiganite.” This has nothing to do with golf, granted, but it’s one of those things I notice.
