Well, part of me thinks it would be great if he would just cut back to the majors now, and the Buicks—and then spend the rest of his time raising his cub.
But that wouldn’t even do it. TV would still only talk about Tiger all the time, and it would make every other tournament look second rate.
I don’t know what they can do. It is only going to get worse over the next five years, which is when I think Tiger will cut back to under ten events a year.
I’ve often thought that Tiger won’t be on the Tour full time for much longer. He can get into any tournament he wants on a sponsors exemption. And as long has he wins majors every few years, he’ll always be pre-qualified into those.
The Tour had better start preparing for their Post-Tiger phase.
