Tom Watson won the Senior PGA today, but I missed it because my local NBC affiliate was doing a play-by-play on the weather radar as a storm blew in from the west. I suppose it’s to be expected, given the recent devastation in tornado alley, but the while thing was infused with the usual local-television, ratings-grubbing hysteria. So I waited for the apocalypse.
And then nothing. Just a brief rain storm.
In the end, I’m thankful that no storm at all materialized anywhere near GolfBlogger World Headquarters. But I’m not happy with the chicken little nature of our local news.
