West Virginia Player Wins NCGAA Title

West Virginia sophomore Mason Short took top honors at the National Collegiate Club Golf Association with a 3-over-146 at Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg, N.J. That was good for a one shot victory.

With the win, Short gets an invitation to the Southeastern Amateur.

West Virginia has not had a school golf team since 1982, but plans to revive the team for 2015-2016 as a result of the move to the Big 12. WVU has hired Sean Covich as the team’s head coach.
