In The Mail: TRUE FS-01 Shoes

Arriving in the mail for review this week was a pair of TRUE FS-01 shoes.

With a classic sneaker styling, the FS-01s are made of a very soft recycled leather. In spite of its wonderful feel, TRUE says that it is tough: “highly scratch resistant, odor free, strong, flexible and easy to clean.” The shoes are also water resistant.

My initial reaction to wearing them around the house is that the FS-01 is incredibly comfortable.

Here’s what TRUE has to say about the features of the shoe:

• 1-Piece Rubber Stitched Outsole: The one piece rubber outsole offers an incredibly durable, long lasting and stable pair of shoes. It also means a wrinkle free midsole that is easy to clean and stays looking great.
• Achilles Heel Pad: The achilles heel pad is your new favorite feeling heel. The heel cushion provides comfort and locks in your heel for a blister-free walking experience.
• Ultra Plush Insole System: The Ultra-Plush Insole System is our most comfortable feeling footbed we have ever built. Our system allows you to sit directly atop the midsole; forgoing the hardened, dead feel that a traditional lasting board and cement glue create. They offer the TRUE fit we all love, while adding a layer of plush comfort for your overall walking experience. The insoles are also made with anti-microbial properties to keep your shoes fresh over time.
• Work Boot Durability: Scratch resistant, water resistant, and ready for any endeavor – the FS-01 won’t shy away from inclement conditions or arduous wear and tear.
• Medium-wide toe box comfortably accommodates up to E width

Construction

• Upper: Recycled, GRS Certified, Leather Upper “Eco-Genuine Leather” (58% Recycled Pre Consumer Genuine Leather, 25% Post Consumer recycled content, 17% Polyurethane for Scratch-Resistant Finish).
• Insole: Ultra Plush Insole System – for enhanced comfort, stability and under-foot performance.
• Outsole: Natural Gum Rubber & Silicone (transparent colorways utilize silicone).
• Bonding: Creating our strongest bond yet – the leather upper and Margom rubber outsole are brought together with strobel construction and a outsole topline stitch to ensure strong bonding strength, while also reducing our need for unnecessary harmful adhesives.
