Norman Plans Return To The Masters

imageHere’s a happy thought: Greg Norman appears headed for a return to Augusta. He qualified for The Masters by virtue of his surprising third place finish at last summer’s British Open Championship.

It isn’t a pipe dream. Norman has entered the field for the Johnny Walker in a couple of weeks and also is scheduled to play in the Shell Houston Open the week before The Masters. From Norman’s website:

Greg Norman will be in the field for the Shell Houston Open in April after receiving a sponsor’s exemption for the Texas event. The 53-year-old World Golf Hall of Famer is planning to use the PGA Tour event as a warm-up for the Masters, which takes place the following week. “I’ll just go enjoy the week, enjoy every step I take, and play the best golf I can possibly play,” Norman said.

Its probably too much to hope that Norman will contend as he did in the Open. But it’s sure nice to think about.
