The First Family of American Golf

I don’t think there’s any question about it right now. With Trip Kuehne’s recent victory in the US Mid-Amateur, the Kuehne family has become the first family of American Golf.

Each of the three Kuehne siblings now has won a USGA title. Trip’s younger sister Kelli Kuehne won the 1995 and 1996 U.S. Women’s Amateur titles, and little brother Hank Kuehne won the 1998 U.S. Amateur. That’s four USGA titles in the same family.

Kelli now is playing on the LPGA Tour; Hank is on the PGA Tour. Tripp seems content to be a very good amateur; he finished second to Tiger Woods in the 1994 US Amateur.
