TRUE is best known for its walking-focused golf shoes, but recently has expanded its line to apparel and other golf-adjacent products.

The TRUE FS Slides are a part of the company’s (relatively) new Golf and Leisure Club line of products. The lineup includes button-ups, swim shorts, hats, t-shirts and such.

TRUE sent a pair of its FS Slides for review; they have become my go-to “after a long day” shoes.

I have not previously owned a pair of slides, and was unsure as to whether I would like them. I have long thought they looked ridiculous on my students as they scoot around the halls trying to keep them on their feet. Slides are not practical for quickly navigating crowded high school corridors while trying to get to class on time.

That said, slides turn out to be perfect around the house and likely great for the clubhouse. They’re a bit like flip-flops with toe protectors.

The FS-Slides from TRUE are very lightweight, with the uppers and lowers constructed of some sort of light, but strong foam. TRUE calls it “Wanderlux Superfoam.

The soles are very much like what I find on a pair of TRUE Linkswear’s All Day Knit III shoes.

A nice detail on the shoe is that the green “Golf and Leisure Club” leather tab can be swapped out for a brown one that says “TRUE.”

As a teacher, I’m on my feet all day; then I typically go out and walk eighteen after work (in a pair of TRUE golf shoes, of course). I regularly get in 20,000 steps a day. By the time I finally get home, the old dogs are barking, and the TRUE slides are just what the podiatrist ordered.
