Good news for the LPGA. Two months after the Wegman’s supermarket chain broke off negotiations with the LPGA, the two have come to an agreement on a three-year contract with an option for three one-year extensions. That keeps teh 33-year old tournament in Rochester, New York.
Bill Strassberg, Wegman’s VP said the change in leadership at the LPGA was “very important” in getting a new contract done.
The tournament purse will be $2 million in 2010. Proceeds will benefit the Graduation is the Goal Fund.
Now if they can just lock in the Jamie Farr in Toledo.
