LPGA To Begin Drug Testing in 2008

LPGA Commissioner Carolyn Bivens said that the tour will begin testing players for performance-enhancing drugs in 2008.

That’ll give Annika a year and a half to get the steroids out of her system. cool smirk

On a more serious note, it’s good to see Bivens being proactive. Now the PGA Tour needs to get with it and institute a program.

Not that I really believe that any players are using steroids. But it’s only a matter of time before a group of publicity seeking members of Congress decide to subpoena Woods and other golf stars and force them to “testify” before a televised hearing. Can you imagine Ted Kennedy on his high horse drilling Tiger about drug use on the Tour.

Not something I want to see.
