Michigan State Tops Michigan In Golf Challenge

I somehow missed this last week: A team of golfers led by Michigan State AD Mark Hollis rose to victory over Dave Brandon’s Michigan squad. Michigan’s team featured Lion Kim, who played in last year’s Masters.

From the Free Press:

Eighteen holes weren’t enough to decide the first B1G AD Golf Challenge between Michigan and Michigan State on Monday.

Jimmy Chestnut birdied No. 18 for MSU at Eagle Eye Golf Club, tying the score at nine-under par and forcing a playoff won with a birdie by Ryan Brehm on the first hole. U-M had been up by a stroke entering the final hole, but all five of its golfers made par.

Each team had five golfers, including the respective athletic directors: Dave Brandon for U-M and Mark Hollis for MSU.

Sounds like they intend to make the AD Challenge an annual event. They should arrange to sell tickets for charity. I’m sure we could get some diehard fans out.
