R7 425 Recall Rumors Apparently Not True

I’ve been getting a lot of inbound traffic over the last few days using search terms like: R7 425 Tip Problem ; R7 425 Shaft Problem ; and R7 425 Recall.

There apparently is a rumor floating around out there of a problem with TaylorMade’s latest driver. I tried Googling to find the source of the rumor, but was unsuccessful.

So I contacted a source at TaylorMade for information. The unofficial official story is that there was an “assembly problem” with a few clubs in the first batch of drivers (not the shaft problem of the runors) and that none of the problem drivers made it to the consumer. Those that made it to retailers were returned.

So, none of the clubs that were sold, or that currently are at retailers were affected.

Since I think of a recall as a company having to call back products that have been sold to consumers, I’d say that the recall rumors just aren’t true. But if TaylorMade ever releases an official official statement, I’ll pass it on.
