The Golfer’s Prayer – Golf Poetry

The Golfer’s Prayer – Golf Poetry

I do not ask for strength to drive
Three Hundred Yards and straight;

I do not ask to make in five
A hole that's bogey eight;

I do not want a skill in play
Which others can't attain;

I plead for but one Saturday
On Which it doesn't rain

Ring W. Lardner, in Lyrics of the Links, 1921
